ASSET (A Spatial Strategy for the Eurodelta, boosting a circular builT environment) focuses on the development of a spatial planning strategy to promote a circular construction industry in the Eurodelta region.
By addressing a key objective of the European Union's Green Deal, it is based on a circular economy - in which existing materials and products are shared, leased, reused, repaired, refurbished and recycled for as long as possible. This transforms supply chains and extends the life cycle of products.
ASSET explores the transition into a circular built environment within the Eurodelta, the historically grown and economically strong region with the metropolitan area of the Rhine, Scheldt and Meuse deltas.
The project, funded by Interreg North-West Europe, joins eleven partners and over 30 associated partners from the public sector in the fields of circular economy, business, planning and mobility across the Eurodelta.
ASSET identifies successful strategies for the transition to a circular economy and enables exchange and joint interregional learning. ASSET also raises awareness that additional capacities and technological innovations are needed for the success of the circular economy.
